Please take note: Cedar-side House is situated off a private road with a steep incline. It is regularly plowed during winter, but it can be slippery. We recommend arriving in an all-wheel-drive vehicle.

Cedar-side House features an open-concept kitchen equipped with all the amenities and appliances you could desire. From small to large appliances, we have ensured that all the utensils necessary for enjoying a delightful pasta dinner or a sizzling steak on the barbecue are provided.

Adjacent to the kitchen, you'll find a well-appointed living room. Bathed in natural light, this room offers a relaxing ambiance, complete with a collection of books for your reading pleasure and candles to create a soothing atmosphere during tranquil evenings.

The house boasts two private bedrooms with comfortable queen-size mattresses, as well as a three-piece washroom stocked with fresh towels and fragrant soap.

Step outside onto our secluded back deck, designed to be enjoyed year-round. Adorned with tasteful lounging furniture and a gas BBQ, it offers the perfect setting to conclude an amazing day with an even more exceptional meal. To the right of the deck, you'll discover a charming fire pit surrounded by cozy Muskoka chairs, providing a cozy spot for cooler evenings.

The wraparound gardens have recently been upgraded in 2023, creating a picturesque backdrop for wedding photos and family portraits against the stunning Carolinian forest.

We take pride in offering a variety of fresh, organic produce grown just 200 feet from the property itself. In addition, we provide grass-fed beef, pork, and water buffalo. If you have any questions or would like more information about our menu, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

PRIVATE YOGA SESSIONS:

Kim Jones, a retired physical education teacher and fitness instructor with over 20 years of experience in teaching, is thrilled to offer backyard yoga classes at your rented luxury guest home from May to October.

As a seasoned yogi and life coach, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her classes.

The fee for each session is $20 per person and includes the use of mats, although participants may bring their own.

Each one-hour session requires a minimum of four participants or a minimum booking fee of $80.

PICNIC AT THE MANOR:

During the months of May - October we welcome guests to book our intimate picnic experience located on the front lawn of our historic European-styled manor.

Picnics are held for 3- hours and include a seasonal charcuterie board, welcome drinks, and more!

FARM TOURS:

When staying at Cedar Side House we offer a farm tour that ranges from 1.5-2 hours. Guided by Farmer Jan, you will walk around our 100+ acres of field and forest where you will see crops, pastures, ponds, and animals - and how they all interact and connect with each other. Throughout this tour, you will experience how your food is grown and raised and how our land is managed.

EVENTS POLICY:

For an additional fee per person, we are happy to accommodate events that exceed the house limit. If you're interested, please reach out to us, and we'll be delighted to provide you with detailed pricing information. Kindly note that all events must be approved before they can take place.

AC:

While some may have concerns about the absence of air conditioning during the hot summer months, rest assured that Cedar-side House, along with Hilltop Cottage, was thoughtfully constructed to keep cool air in and hot air out. Even if the temperature outside reaches 30 degrees Celsius, the interior will remain a comfortable 18-20 degrees. We recommend keeping windows and doors closed during the hottest hours of the day and opening them during cooler hours to ensure a refreshing airflow.

RESTRICTIONS:

We ask that all guests stick to their house/property. Please don’t wander around. If you do want to wander there are beautiful public paths all around us there is a pamphlet in the house explaining where trails are located.
